Whats the craic at 888?

Finally got banners etc up and running at GTP for 888poker and hopefully a lot of you will use this link.Reasons for?
1.Well,GTP will make money from your signup and that will be put straight back into freerolls and money added games.
2.Next OFC is at 888 and with $8 free on sign up it means all GTPers who use the banner can also play the 2k added game as well as the freeroll.
3.The games for micro players are fantastic.Loads of sngs from 10c!The chance to build a roll from the 8 free is there,if you want to take it!
4.MTTs start from freerolls obviously but even have a 1k gar with 1c entry! Rebuys and addons granted but still,the value is huge.
5.World cup games.Pick your country of choice entry prices vary.The one I play is $500 gar for 1.99 entry.30% goes to the winning team,split among the players.A few times i have closed off 888 to open next day to fing my team recieved a prize....nice wee bonus lol
6.Always busy.Loads of sngs which fill quick.Freerolls each and every day which are usually turbo games so dont last too long.
7.Reward freerolls.Depends on amount played,same as at carbon but the levels are easier to achieve.Plus,play 1 game at the casino on a thursday and get entry into a 1k game on saturday.This usually has about 600 runners so not too difficult to cash.
8.First time depositers get 7 nights of $500 freerolls just for them and every subsequent deposit qualifies you for a 1k freeroll on a saturday.The 7 nights will have about 2-300 runners and the saturday 1k game will be quite big with about 2000 runners.
9.You will be helping all at GTP to grow,hopefully convincing new members to make up the numbers at carbon games.

Against? Well having another site on your pc is the only one I can think of.

It really is a very good site,one I have fallen in love with over the last few months.There is 24hr action and about 10x the amount of mtts as carbon.The low entries with big prizepools offer a great chance to build from nothing...and we all love that!

Long time ago

It really is a long time since i posted aint it?
So many reasons yet I seem unable to pinpoint one.I havent played at carbon for a while nor deposited as the turnouts had got so low on the weekends it wasnt as much fun.Some games never even got off the ground due to lack of players although i noticed last weekend a lot of new faces so hopefully its a past problem.
I have been playing at another site,which i wont mention as its something I have suggested to Jack to think about adding at GTP,which has amazing webcam games.These games mean you talk real time and watch each other real time,its as close to getting a live game online.Apparently we have the capability to do that with GTP already and its something i strongly recommend.I actually enjoy the game so much more when its so personal and i hope that GTP enable it real soon to help us become more of a community.The site i am at does not take americans at the moment so only our european/canadian members can play there.It also has regular world cup games when you play for your country with the poool being split between regular payouts and team payouts....very good fun.
On a more personal note mandy has hit the 6 month stage and hormones playing up,so that with all the other brats running around means my time to play is limited.Number one son becomes a teenager soon and daughter 3 is nearing puberty,seeming to learn all the bad bits of "the time of the month" without actually having it yet.Must say,some interesting arguments with those two lately!
Webcam games the way to go,so lets not be backward here folks......whoever can organise it should do whilst it is still something new GTP as a forum can use to attract new members

update

Well,all settled down now,at last,another bundle of joy on the way in March so its really gonna be a full house here!The photo,if it uploads is me and the beautiful Mandy after the news sunk in lol.edit,didnt upload....pity.
Kids off school and having some great weather,temperatures in the 20's.Now thats nothing to a lot of people but here in norn iron its a bloody heatwave.I read its mad temperatures in USA and it must be a nightmare.We really struggle with 21/22 degrees so to read of 40 ......wow.
Poker wise i seem to have come out of a 6 month slump,hope so anyways,as i have for the first time in a long time got 50bucks upto over the 300 mark.Now its not mindboggling i know but its the first in a long long while when i can sit at the 10c/25c pl omaha and not be panicking about dropping a buyin or two,and that makes it easier to win a little,in my opinion.Can also play the bigger mtt buyins which i seem to do ok in,just couldnt afford it for a long while.
Hope i havent just scudded myself,thats the reason i dont lift money out.....im a believer of a cashout leads to bad running at the tables.Well it always seemed like that to me so this time i wait till i have,hopefully,over the 1k mark.Im actually enjopying the nl omaha,the amount of players that are willing to go allin pf with naked aces or even 4 high cards,pocket 10s and up,is unbelievable.If you get a decent starting hand you can certainly make a bit of money.Anybody here that likes omaha and has a few spare bucks to try the nl i highly recommend it.

Well,my eldest daughter,23,mother of my 2 grandkids has just got engaged! Sheesh,I hope she wants a cheap wedding but which women do?Lots to plan and organise,and the most fearful part....pay for.Any donations?Acheap honeymoon to the states would be cool so all yousens with a log cabin can certainly put forward offers.Lol
Amazing news to me,good news that she has found someone that loves and cares for her,especially being a single mom of two.The father was/is a wee hood,maybe you call them wideboys,from the shankill area in belfast,the sort of place where even the dogs carry flick knives.He disappeared when Janitha was 3 months pregnant with the first,reappeared after the child was 3 months,got her preggers again and duly disappeared never to be seen again.Janitha thought she had no hope but carried on at college learning hiardressing and beauty treatments and qualified just before the summer.If only i listened to my own advice of carrying on and trying to better oneself,using determination and following through,well than maybe my own health would be a lot better and i might have a bit more satisfaction from life.Gotta learn to practice what i preach lol.
2 days till the parades but a lot more rioting last night makes up my mind to stay put and to not move from home.I am a protestant and this is supposed to be celebrating my culture but when it instills fear into a lot of those it says it represents,well maybe its time to give it all up.Not gonna happen of course,too much pride/stubborness in the loyalist communities to ever happen.
So,its batten down the hatches and try to win some money to pay for a bloody wedding.......worse still,there is 4 more girls after her!

been a while

Whilst it has been a while since i posted it hasnt stopped here a chez nelson and the reason for my abscence is down to Jack....he lost MY password LOL.How dare he!
I have lost the shop due to a fallout with my partner and have come to realise a lot of people i thought were friends were rather just aquaintences that i might along the way in lifes journey.As they say,you learn as you go along and its not making mistakes is the problem....its making the same mistakes twice.

Ben has hit the big 4 and we have now got a rabbit to add to the mouths to feed.Sophie hits 11 in a weeks time,Jordan away to army camp for 11 days,Grace getting more funny by the day and Jessie getting bigger and bigger.My 2 grandkids are down on a regular basis so still pretty mental here.
As far as poker goes,well it has been going but all downhill.I have had amazing bad beats and given out some more amazing suckouts....aces versus aces being my favourite when i hit 4 spades to make the nut flush hehe.
Lost a bit at ft,a bit at carbon and a bit at skypoker,so all the sites are being consistant!Gonna lodge today at carbon so i can play the gtp games at the weekend and hope i show well enough in those to make the leaderboard top 21.
Its getting to the mad season here in the north of ireland when all hell generally breaks loose meaning its a time of the year most normal people stay in..what used to be a party season has turned into a riot season,regular riots,petrol bombs,cs gas,bricks,injuries etc etc and it has even reached what used to be"peaceful" parts of the north,ie Bangor,where we live.It is quite something when it comes to your doorstep as it always felt like it was a world away when it was 12 miles up the road in Belfast.
Anyways,i will try to keep true to my word and update more regular,as long as you are not too bored!

Unsure

It has been a helluva weekend hasnt it? most of you lot cant even get a game now at ft,stars,ap but what has amazed me is the apathy shown here with the" its alright,it will be ok" compared to other forums blind panic/realisation that it definitley is not ok.As far as playing at the smaller sites goes i would be of the belief that they also will be hit in time,most probably a short time.If i was in USA and had funds anywhere they would be out in a shot,leaving some to play with in the small games only.Why leave a bankroll where you are not certain of getting it out in the near future? You can bury your head in the sand all you want guys and gals but i firmly believe its over for the USA for a long while with more closures imminent and those with funds at the big ones that have closed waiting a long time to see them,if at all.If it was illegal,and you put in funds trying to break the land of your state,then how would you be able to claim them back now the FBI have control?Would you not be liable to prosecution? I have read a lot of articles since saturday and one thing i pick up is the disgust felt among the players that the people they elected are getting away with not listening to the people they claim to represent,and thats a bad thing.
I hope you lot get sorted but my advice would be to get out funds while you can from the sites still open and prepare to go cold turkey for a while.Tell me this,could you be prosecuted for playing,mas it is(isnt it)illegal?

what a week

Been a disaster from beginning to end.I cant see things being resolved between myself and a couple of members at GTP and will leave that as it is....way down on my to do list im afraid and nor is it likely to rise anytime soon.
Lost the shop on monday,well my partner emptied the place and disappeared with all the stock,even down to the tea bags and coffee.leaving me well out of pocket and unable to see a way back anytime soon,although i will start again from very limited resources and try.
Jordan has a really bad chest infection and him having asthma does not help,Grace and Jessica teething and we are planning a move at the end of april.7 people require a lot of planning and packing thats for sure.Turned 47 and most people were congratulating me on my 50th lol.I tell you one thing though,i would rather grow old than the other option!
Sophie is turning into a mini monster,in fact im sure the bogeyman checks HIS closet to see if SHES there when he goes to bed!
Boys Brigade display coming up on friday and a load of stuff to be done before then with the hoods....sorry,boys,that will be on show this week.
On the plus side had a lovely meal on saturday night with my cousin and her husband.He is convinced i checked the rugby results before we met last time as i was winding him up by saying things about the game,even though i had no idea.Well it was pretty close to what happened so on saturday night i told him ulster were beaten in quarter-finals of the heineken cup after leading at half time.He told me,which i knew of course,the match was on sunday.I told him it had already been played lol.I said ulster lost by 4 after having the half time lead.Well,watched the game on sunday....ulster 13-11 ahead at half time and duly beaten by.....10 points! Thank goodness it wasnt 4 but it was a pretty good guess lmao....he is convinced im psychic now hehe.
So all in all a week from hell,at least you non-believers will get an idea of what it will be like for you after life ends!

the end?

Not really sure but getting a strong feeling its time to move on from GTP.I love the place,I love jack(not in a manlove kinda way though)and the majority of active members.But since a couple have got a bit of "power" lets say,it has for me become a not too enjoyable experience.People talking down to myself,treating me like a newbie kid on the block and failing to show any kind of respect for a member who has been here possibly 7 years or more,well,its taken its toll.I also know i give nico a hard time buts its annoying with others who hijack a topic to attack him but slobber when someone dares to hijack their posts,in fact be downright rude to them,well it gets to a point i feel i would be better walking away rather than face conflict(not the american way,which would be to be brash and loud and interfere with everything when its none of their business).I treat nico like my own kids...i can call them everything but if someone else does it gets right under my skin.Ive had fallouts with him over the years but he KNOWS that i care a lot for him and what i say is outta love for the guy,not vindictiveness.Unfortunatley thats what i see when i see the latest hijacked topic....just spitefulness...from the guy who is the main reason i left the gtp2wsop due to his constant nitpicking over times,dates,what you had to do if you won etc etc.
I'm guessing its time for a new era at gtp and past and present input isnt necessary from us old guys.I hope im wrong but its become a place where i come now to see the fighting rather than the joking.To see who is having a go at who.
Please leave nico,mom(who has had a load of hassle due to some calls that cause suckouts)and i guess myself,alone.Just dont type if its to cause conflict but to be honest,i think the ego thing takes over in a lot of cases,possibly,no probably,even mine.
I appreciate that jack lets everyone work out their own problems,like in the real world,but that only works with the will to do so from both sides.To listen to others and their greiviences and try to understand instead of digging heels in and refusing to budge.
Sorry if i let you down jack,i had to post this as it is my blog and you wanted my day to day feelings...well,there you have it!
